India Day at the EMO Hannover 201720 August/ 2017
India’s economy is growing, and so is industrial manufacturing. In the machine tool industry, the country is ranked 8th amongst the world’s biggest markets with a volume of 1.7 billion euro recently in 2016. This corresponds to 11 percent growth calculated in euro. The country imports 70 percent of the necessary machine tools. Around 1.2 billion euro worth of machines were imported in 2016. Therefore, the EMO Hannover 2017 will focus once again on this interesting market with a great deal of potential
Mainly Indian experts will report during the course of India Day on 20 September 2017, including experts from the Indian Machine Tool Association (IATMA). Representatives of Indian user industries will be presenting economic and technical trends in the automotive and aerospace industry. The resulting requirements of production technology in the country will also be addressed. A podium discussion, in which representatives from Bosch, Fritz Werner, Tata, United Grinding, and the Indian Ministry of Heavy Industry & Public Enterprises will participate, will focus on the challenges and opportunities in business with the galloping elephant.
